Kuyyaan and his mother Annakkili are residents of Nethilikkupam in Chennai being into theft and alcoholism. Unable to find a bride for his son Annakkili somehow manages to get her niece, parvathi as her daughter-in-law. Parvathi is shocked at the unhygienic environment and shattered on finding that her husband is a drunkard and thief. But quietly she sets out to reform her husband.
Jegathalan is another resident in the same kuppam. A wonderful person, he is also a Kabbadi player. Though his father is a drunkard, his mother Chithrangi, supports her son, working as a maid. Jegathalan falls in love with Jacqueline, daughter of Esther who vehemently opposes their affair.
Did the manipulative police officials accept Kuyyaan's repentance, and what are all the obstacles to the love affair between Jegathalan and Jasmine form the backbone of the story.
